SCHOOL OF THE YEAR STANDINGS
(LEBANON, Ill., April 21)—McKendre University has extended its lead in the standings of the latest rankings for the 2018-19 Bass Pro Shops School of the Year, presented by Abu Garcia.
Thanks to its strong showing at the recent FLW Central Regional, the Bearcats turned a five-point lead in the standings to a 480-point cushion. McKendree has placed at least one boat in the top five of the final standings in each of its last 12 events, including each of its six tournament during the spring semester.
"The team is very excited to be in the position that we're in, but they also know that they will need to continue to have consistent finishes in the remaining tournaments in order to hold on to that spot," said McKendree bass fishing coach
Jon Rinderer. "The current group of collegiate anglers that compete for teams all across the nation is extremely talented, and the level of competition at each and every tournament is incredible. Each tournament finish is crucial."
Murray State University holds down the No. 2 spot in the latest School of the Year standings, followed by Bethel University in third place. Adrian College and Blue Mountain College round out the top five in the standings.
McKendree's next tournament outing will come at the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series tour event April 25-27 in Bull Shoals, Ark.
