(LEBANON, Ill., April 4)—McKendree University sophomore Natasha Ainsley-Thomas (Northamptonshire, England/Sponne School) has been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Golfer of the Week. The league announced the honor on Thursday.
 
Ainsley-Thomas earned co-medalist honors over the weekend at the Perry Park Spring Fling held in Kentucky. She opened with an even-par round of 72 on her way to finishing the 36-hole event at 150. It marked the third tournament that Ainsley-Thomas won or finished with a share of the lead this season. Ainsley-Thomas also registered her sixth top-15 finish in McKendree's seven tournaments to date in 2018-19.
 
This is the second GLVC Golfer of the Week honor for Ainsley-Thomas. She also won the award earlier this fall consecutive top-two finishes at the Flyer Intercollegiate and Kentucky Wesleyan College Invitational in October.
 
The McKendree women's golf team will return to action April 7-8 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Spring Invitational to be played at Norwood Hills Country Club.
