(LEBANON, Ill., May 3) – The McKendree University men's and women's track and field team competed in the second day of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Kirksville, Mo.

Three McKendree track and field athletes medaled in their events while 18 others qualified for the final competition in their race. Within those 21 performances, six of them were new personal best.

Three Bearcats medaled on Friday, all setting new personal bests with their final performances. Senior Monte Wolke (Sigel, IL/Cumberland) earned first place in the men's pole vault with a final height of 4.90m. Senior Peyton Ali (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) came in second place in the women's 3000m steeplechase recorded her best time in her career crossing the finish line at 11:11.44. Lastly, Mya Watson-Blake (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon Township) took third and earned a new personal best in the women's long jump with a final distance of 5.62m.

Out of those who qualified for the final heat in their event, eight were women and ten were men. Here is a full list of events and those who qualified to compete in Saturday's final races:
