(Elsah, Ill. – Oct. 24) - The McKendree University Men's Cross Country team competed in the 2020 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championship "B Race" and finished fifth overall. Freshman
Seth Kasinger (Pekin. IL/Pekin Community ) and (CLASS)
Isaac Winter (Highland, IL/Highland) both set new personal records Saturday afternoon.
"The men's team raced well overall. A few PR's and season bests were set, which is great," said Assistant Head Coach
Hannah Inyart.
McKendree was represented by five runners in the men's 2020 GLVC Championship "B Race". Kasinger was the first to cross the finish line for the Bearcats. His new personal best time of 29:08 landed him in a 17
th place overall finish.
Behind Kasinger was Jimmy Read, who finished in 28
th place and recorded a new season-best of 30:27.
Devin Caswell (New Athens, IL/) finished in 39
th place (35:51) and
Meshar Rogers-Prince (Apopka, FL/Apopka) finished just behind his teammate in 40
th place (39:59).
Rounding out the Bearcats was Winter, who finished in 41
st place with a new season-best time of 41:22.
"The PR's and season bests are all thanks to
Hannah Inyart's work with the athletes during the fall training," said Head Coach
Agne Eggerth. "Seth is finding his stride as a collegiate athlete. Both Jimmy and Seth enjoyed the downhill portions of the race as they both were commenting after the race how rewarding those portions were. Isaac was feeling better not only physically but mentally. So, he was able to push himself more at this race - and the reward is a new PR. For Devin, it was a very brave effort on his part as he is still overcoming some health issues."
