SAINT LOUIS, MO, - McKendree University cross country competed at the Mikayla Sherrill Classic hosted by The University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis.
Junior Blake Westrater led the way for the Bearcats with a new personal best in the 8-Kilometer race with a time of 27:11.8 placing 6th overall. This is the highest finish of Westrater's colligate career.
freshman Diego Paz Denis and senior Caleb Klein and both ran new personal bests with times of 27:16.6 and 27:38.8 respectively. Paz Denis and Klein both notched their first top 10 career finishes with 7th and 9th overall.
Freshmen Brenton Good rounded out the day for the men's harriers with a new personal best of 30:52.0.
On the women's side freshman Lydia Trump led the harrier's way with a new personal best of 19:48.8, placing 6th overall. This is the highest placement of Trump's career.
Sophomore Chloe Gough crossed the finish line with a new personal best of 21:14.0 and junior Cynthia Snyder in 21:47.9.
Freshman Oaklie Layton crossed line in 22:39 and Bree Hazelrigg closed out the day in 22:59.2.
McKendree saw all athletes run personal bests today, and close out the regular season with a booming performance. The Bearcats now look forward to the GLVC Conference Championship next weekend at the University of Illinois Springfield.
