(LEBANON, Ill. – Feb. 8) – The No.1 McKendree University women's wrestling hosted an eventful weekend with a 31-12 win over No.4 Colorado Mess University on Friday and four championship titles by Alara Boyd (Muncie, IN/Yorktown High School), Alexandria Glaude (West Sacramento, CA/Christian Brothers High School), Kori Bullock (Cahokia, IL/Cahokia High School) and Sydnee Kimber (Sitka, AK/Mt Edgecombe High School) in the annual Bearcat Open on Saturday afternoon.

McKendree hosted their annual all-day Bearcat Open Saturday and came out on-top of the 143-lb, 155-lb, 170-lb and 191-lb brackets. Of the 19 Bearcats that competed, four placed first overall, two place second overall, three place fourth overall, two place fifth overall, and two place sixth overall.

109-lb:
Carly Valleroy (St. Louis, MO/Mehlville High School) was defeated by technical fall (TF 10-0) to Alleah Gould of King University. Valleroy won by fall at 1:28 over Angelina Graff of North Central College. Valleroy won by technical fall (TF 10-0) over Alice Todryk of UW-Stevens Point. Valleroy won by technical fall (TF 10-0) over Alezia Seal of Simon Fraser University.  Valleroy was defeated by fall at 1:12 to Brooke Turber of UW-Stevens Point. Valleroy was defeated by technical fall (11-0) to Aleeah Gould of King University in the fifth-place match. Valleroy placed sixth overall and went 3-3 on the day.

Natalie Reyna (Hesperia, CA/Whittier High School) won by technical fall (TF 10-0) over Clare Garcia of Emmanuel College. Reyna won by technical fall (TF 12-2) over Alice Todryk of UW-Stevens Point. Reyna was defeated by fall at 0:55 to Macie Stewart or Southern Oregon University. Reyna won by a 6-1 decision over Aleeah Gould of King University. Reyna was defeated in a 9-4 decision to Brooke Turber of UW-Stevens Point in the third-place match. Reyna placed fourth overall and went 3-2 on the day.

Valerie Carreon () was defeated by fall at 1:10 to Macie Stewart of Southern Oregon University. Carreon was defeated by technical fall (TF 11-0) to Angelina Gomez of Lions Wrestling Club. Carreon did not place in the open and went 0-2 on the day.

116-lb:
Allissa Maldonado (Cypress Falls, TX/Cypress Falls) competed unattached from McKendree in the open. Maldanado was then defeated by technical fall (TF 10-0) to Kasey Baynon of Lions Wrestling Club. Maldanado received a bye for the following round of competition. Maldanado won by technical fall (TF 10-0) over Britney Lamey of Emmanuel College. Maldanado won by a 10-3 decision over Abby Nelson of UW-Stevens Point. Maldanado was defeated in a 5-0 decision to Angelique Terrones-Cruz of Lindenwood University. Maldanado did not place in the open and went 2-2 on the day.

Felicity Taylor (Spillville, IA/South Winneshiek High School) won by technical fall (TF 14-4) over Tata Othman of Southern Oregon University. Taylor won by a 7-2 decision over Angelique Terrones-Cruz of Lindenwood University. Taylor won by fall at 3:31 over Abby Nelson of UW-Stevens Point. Taylor won by an 8-0 decision over Kasey Baynon. Taylor was defeated by technical fall (TF 12-1) by Karla Godinez-Gonzalez of Simon Fraser University in the first-place match. Taylor placed second overall and went 4-1 on the day.

Theresa Rankin (Grass Lake, MI/Grass Lake High School) won by fall at 5:17 over Valleria Mamleeva of Lindenwood University. Rankin was defeated by technical fall (TF 10-0) to Karla Godinez-Gonzale of Simon Fraser University. Sumner was defeated by technical fall (TF 10-0) to Emily Se of Emmanuel College. Sumner was defeated by technical fall (TF 10-0) to Tara Othman of Southern Oregon University. 123-lb:
Payton Stroud (South Prairie, WA/White River High School) won by technical fall (TF 10-0) over Marissa Kurtz of Southern Oregon University. Stroud won by fall at 3:25 over Niya Teres Gaines of Emmanuel College. Stroud was defeated by technical fall (TF 10-0) to Phoenix Dubose of King University. Alexia Ward (Portland, OR/Westview High School) won by technical fall (TF 10-0) over Jocelyn Murphy of Missouri Valley College. McKenzie Cook (Homer, AK/Homer High School) competed unattached from McKendree in the open. Cook was defeated by technical fall (TF 10-0) to teammate Glaude. Cook received a bye in the next round of competition. Cook won by fall at 1:15 over Tabitha Breitrick of UW-Stevens Point. Cook won by a 10-6 decision over Hailey Cancelleri of King University. 170-lb:
Kori Bullock (Cahokia, IL/Cahokia High School) won by technical fall (TF 10-0) over Taea Regua of Southern Oregon University. Bullock won by fall at 1:21 over Aniseta Acosta (unattached wrestler). Bullock won by technical fall (TF 12-0) over Elvira Arevalo of Emmanuel College. Bullock won by a 5-1 decision over Jessika Rottier of UW-Stevens Point. Bullock won by a last-minute spin move for an 8-6 decision over Yelena Makoyed of North Central College in the first-place match. Bullock place first overall and went 5-0 on the day.

Andrea Sennett (Wheeling, IL/Wheeling High Shcool) was defeated by technical fall (TF 10-0) to Hannah Galdden of Lions Wrestling Club. Sennett won by technical fall (TF 10-0) over Taea Regua. Sennett won by technical fall (TF 10-0) over Ioana Ledgate of Missouri Valley College. Sennett won by technical fall (TF 12-0) over Ophelia Lara of Emmanuel College. McKendree will host their final home event of the 2019-20 season with a dual against Oklahoma City University on Friday, Feb. 21. The senior night will begin at 7:00 P.M. in the Harry M. Statham Sports Center.
