ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The McKendree University Women's Bowling 'B' Team finished third out of 10 teams at this past weekend's Lindenwood Lions Classic held here at Plaza Lanes Bowling Center.
McKendree began the tournament with three traditional rounds as they knocked down a total of 2,634 pins, putting them in second place out of 10 games. Sophomore
Rhian Dobinson (Farnborough, England/Ther Warvell School) led the way for the Bearcats with a tournament best average of 217.3 pins per game as she recorded 142 pins in the first game, bowled a perfect 300 in the second game and knocked down 210 pins in the third game.

Kirstin Rood (Monroe, Wis./Monroe) was fifth with 569 pins and averaged 189.7 pins per game as she recorded scores of 170, 210 and 189, while freshman
Lexus Petrich (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) was 17th with 538 pins as she averaged 179.3 pins per game. Sophomore
Dominique Donegan (Midlothian, Ill./Bremen) was 41st with 476 pins for an average of 158.7 pins per game. Junior
Jessica Crowley (St. Mary's, Ga./Life University) was 68th with 291 pins as she averaged145.5 pins per game and freshman
Kira Johnson (Perham, Minn./Perham) played just the third game and knocked down 108 pins.
Following the three traditional games, the Bearcats then competed in 10 head-to-head matches that consisted of two Baker games each to finish to determine the seeding for Sunday's Baker-style tournament. Over the 10 head-to-head games, McKendree posted a 5-5 record to earn the No. 6 seed in Sunday's tournament bracket. In the 10 Baker games, McKendree knocked down a total of 1,808 pins and averaged 180.8 pins per game with a high being 229 in the final Baker game.
In Sunday's best-of-three Baker tournament, the Bearcats fell two games to one (228-178, 175-203, 145-190) in its match against Columbia College. In its second game, McKendree picked up a win over the University of Kansas in two games (180-164, 181-158) and then defeated Missouri Baptist in three games despite MBU averaging 170.7 pins to McKendree's 169.3 pins.
The win over Missouri Baptist set up a rematch against Columbia College and in the rematch, the Bearcats won in a roll off after each team won a game and tied a game to advance to a semifinal game against Lindenwood. In the semifinal game, the Lions defeated the Bearcats, 2-0 to post its third place finish.
In its 20 Baker games, the Bearcats recorded a total of 3,576 pins and tallied 6,210 pins for the event.
The McKendree 'B' Women's Bowling team will next be in action on Nov. 13-14 as they compete at the Leatherneck Classic in Moline, Ill.
