PEORIA, Ill. - McKendree University DII men's hockey dropped two matches to the Bradley Braves over the weekend. Bradley shut out the Bearcats on back-to-back nights.
McKendree struggled to generate any major offense in the two game weekend, losing 0-9 and 0-4 versus the Braves. Bradley delivered a constant attack with two goals immediately to begin the game and two more in the third period. The second period during the Friday night matchup was an offensive showing by Bradley, which scored five goals over the 20-minute period.
The Bearcats changed goaltenders part way through the second period on Friday after the Braves collected their third goal over the Bearcats. Junior
Adam Siek started the match for McKendree but the opposing attack was tough to handle, scoring five against Siek, and the Bearcats inserted senior goalie
Joey Bernardini for the remainder of the game.
Bradley had six different goal-scorers in the match, which featured #27 Davis recording a hat trick for the Braves while #18 Straker sent two past the McKendree goaltender.
The second game of the weekend also had the Bearcats struggling to get through the ferocious Bradley defenders, with Bradley scoring four and allowing zero goals for the second-straight night. Junior
Joey Bernardini played full time in the net for McKendree in the second match of the weekend, allowing four goals.
