(LEBANON, Ill. – Feb. 21) – The No.1 McKendree University women's wrestling team was the host of this year's NCWWC Southwest Regional Qualifier Tournament. The Bearcats took first place overall and first in each weight class.

The top-4 wrestlers from each weight class earned a spot in the upcoming NWCCW Championships. No.1 McKendree University took first place of the tournament at 185.9 points, with the most wrestlers qualified – 15 – from the six teams that competed. No.4 Colorado Mesa University took second place with 129.5 points. No.15 Lindenwood University was third with 81 points. T-No.12 Schreiner University placed fourth overall with 44 points. Fontbonne University finished fifth with 18.5 points Westminster College rounded out the tournament in sixth place, with 12.5 points.

101-lbs:
No.4 Lizette Rodriguez (Fremont, CA/James Logan) defeated Jennesis Martinez of Colorado Mesa University in a 6-2 decision. Rodriguez faced teammate Granados in the championship round, and won by a 4-3 decision. Rodriguez went 2-0 on the say and finished first.

No.2 Pauline Granados (Rialto, CA/Carter) was defeated in a 4-3 decision to teammate Rodriguez. Granados went 0-1 on the day and finished second overall.

109-lbs:
No.3 Natalie Reyna (Hesperia, CA/Whittier) defeated Valeriia Mamleeva of Lindenwood in the championship round, and won by tech fall 12-1. Reyna went 1-0 on the day and finished first.

No.5 Carly Valleroy (St. Louis, MO/Mehlville) was defeated by fall at 3:31 to Mamleeva. Valleroy went 0-1 on the day and finished third.

116-lbs:
No.1 Felicity Taylor (Spillville, IA/South Winneshiek) defeated teammate Sumner in the first round of the tournament, by tech fall 10-0. In the championship round, Taylor won by tech fall 12-1 over Alaina Kinsey of Schreiner. Taylor went 2-0 on the day and finished first.

Katherine Sumner (Port Byron, NY/Port Byron) was defeated in the first round by teammate Taylor, in a tech fall 10-0. Sumner was then defeated by tech fall 14-4 to Anja Tschohl of Colorado Mesa. Sumner went 0-2 on the day and finished fourth.

123-lbs:
No.4 Payton Stroud (Buckley, WA/White River) defeated Elizabeth Miller of Colorado Mesa by a 10-5 decision. In the championship rounds, Stroud won by medical forfeit over Marissa Gallegos of Colorado Mesa. Stroud went 2-0 on the day and finished first.

130-lbs:
No.1 Cameron Guerin (Yakima, WA/A.C. Davis) defeated Sydney Ward of Lindenwood by fall at 0:20. In the championship round, Guerin won by tech fall 10-0 over Nanen Aguiler of Colorado Mesa. Guerin went 2-0 on the day and finished first.

136-lbs:
No.5 Brenda Reyna (Mount Vernon, WA/Mount Vernon) defeated Natalie Cregger of Lindenwood by fall at 0:14. In the championship round, Reyna won by tech fall 11-0 over Dalia Garibay of Colorado Mesa. Reyna went 2-0 on the day and finished first.

Michelle Camacho (Rialto, CA/Carter) was defeated in the first round, by fall at 2:21 to Garibay. In the third-place match, Camacho defeated Cregger by fall at 0:23. Camacho went 1-1 on the day and finished third.

143-lbs:
No.1 Emma Bruntil (Acme, WA/Mount Baker Senior) defeated Taylor Reed of Westminster by tech fall 10-0 in the opening round. Bruntil defeated Kaylee Lacy of Colorado Mesa in the championship round, by tech fall 10-0. Bruntil went 2-0 on the day and finished first.

155-lbs:
No.1 Alara Boyd (Muncie, IN/Yorktown) won by fall at 1:11 over Mia Dow of Lindenwood. Boyd would defeat Zoe Gress of Colorado Mesa in the championship round, by fall at 1:42. Boyd went 2-0 on the day and finished first.

170-lbs:
No.2 Joye Levendusky (Avon, NY/Avon) defeated Caylee Collins of Colorado Mesa in the opening round, by tech fall 10-0. In the championship round, Levendusky won by a 2-1 decision over Tristan Kelly of Colorado Mesa. Levendusky went 2-0 on the day and finished first.

190-lbs:
No.1 Sydnee Kimber (Sitka, AK/Mt. Edgecumbe ) won by fall at 0:23 over Kai Poux of Fontbonne. In the championship round, Kimber defeated teammate Kristoff in an 8-0 decision. Kimber went 2-0 on the day and finished first.

No.6 Grace Kristoff (Belleville, IL/Althoff Catholic) won by forfeit over Isabeau Shalack of Colorado Mesa. Kristoff was defeated by teammate Kimber in the championship round, by an 8-0 decision. Kristoff went 1-1 on the day and finished second.

The NCWWC National Championships will be held on the campus of Tiffin University on Saturday, March 6.
