The McKendree University women's volleyball team will have home court advantage in this week's Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Triangular. The Bearcats will host No.20 Drury and No.7 University of Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday, Mar. 13.
Nickie Sanlin's team went 2-0 this past weekend over Southwest Baptist and Maryville, to advance to 5-5 (5-5 in GLVC). McKendree's defensive coverage was able to help run their aggressive offense for a 3-1 set win over Southwest Baptist. Following that game, McKendree fought hard through the five sets with Maryville, and took the match 3-2. The Bearcats are averaging 12.1 kills per set, with a .164 hitting percentage, along with 1.9 service aces and 1.8 blocks.
About No.20 Drury
Drury is 5-5 (5-5 in GLVC) after a split weekend with Illinois-Springfield and Lindenwood on Friday. The Panthers opened the day with a 3-0 sweep over the Prairie Stars, not allowed their opponent to more than 19 points in each set. About No.7 University of Missouri-St. Louis
UMSL is 6-2 (6-2 in GLVC) following a split weekend at Saturday's GLVC Tri-match. UMSL defeated No.12 Southern Indiana in a 3-0 set sweep, limiting their opponent to a .029 hitting percentage. Later that day, UMSL was defeated in a 3-0 sweep to Missouri S&T. The Miners out-blocked the Panthers 11-6 and were limited to a .154 hitting percentage. For more information about the Tritons, click
