The McKendree University softball team defeats Southwest Baptist in both games of its doubleheader on Sunday in Bolivar, Mo.

McKendree won game one 5-0 and won game two in the eighth inning 3-2.

Game One
Â
McKendree got out to a 3-0 lead in the game's first four innings courtesy of
Abby Behlmann RBI single in the first inning, a
Jenny Homann home run in the third inning, and a
Caitlyn Lowry RBI single in the fourth inning.

McKendree added two insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings off a wild pitch scoring
Sidney Larsen, and a Behlman RBI double.

Ellie Quaethem started on the mound. She pitched in all seven innings, gave up zero runs on five hits and struck out 10 batters. Her record improves to 7-4 on the season.

Game Two
Â
McKendree got on the board first in the first inning off a
Paige Hayden third strike wild pitch that scored Lowry.

After SBU tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the third, Hayden would respond in the fourth inning with a solo home run to center field.Â

The game would go into extra innings, but McKendree would secure the win with a Homann sacrifice fly scoring Lowry in the eighth inning.Â

Miranda Gajewski started on the mound for McKendree. She gave up two runs, neither were earned, off five hits and struck out three batters. Her record improves to 9-2 on the season.

McKendree's record improves to 17-7 on the season and 14-4 in the GLVC. The Bearcats sit in third place in the GLVC standings.Â
