INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference has announced that junior
Rebecca Hagerman (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem) has earned this week's Women's Bowling Athlete of the Week honor as announced by the league office on Friday.
This marks the first career Athlete of the Week honor for Hagerman and is the third Bearcat to earn GLVC Women's Bowling Athlete of the Week honors this season as junior
Kayla Smith (Salem, Ill./Salem) was honored on Jan. 14 and fifth-year senior
Britaney Myers (Mechanicsville, NY/Stillwater) was honored last week.
Hagerman earns this week's Women's Bowling Athlete of the Week accolade after finishing 10th individually at last weekend's Prairie View A&M Invitational held at ITRC Arlington in Arlington, Texas. At the Prairie View A&M Invitational, Hagerman recorded a 214.17 average and had a total pinfall of 1,285. She also had a 219.5 average in her Baker games.
She bowled over 200 in five of her six traditional games with a high of 228 against No. 1 ranked Sam Houston State. Also recorded a 58 percent strike average, a 92.5 makeable spare average and a 95.2 single pin spare percentage.
Hagerman's performance helped the No. 2 ranked Bearcats finish as fourth overall at the 12-team tournament that featured each of the Top 8 nationally ranked teams in the most recent NTCA poll. McKendree went 7-6 at the tournament and fell 4-3 in the third-place match against No. 2 ranked Nebraska. At the tournament, McKendree recorded a total pinfall of 13,895 and averaged 201.4 in 69 games.
Hagerman and the rest of the Bearcats return to the lane this weekend (Feb. 5-6) as they travel to Valley Park, Mo., to compete in the Columbia 300 Saints Invitational hosted by Maryville University and held at Bowlero Lakeside.
