INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – McKendree University had a total of 307 student-athletes named to the 2021-22 Great Lakes Valley Conference Academic All-Conference honors as announced by the league office on Tuesday. A total of 3,814 student-athletes were recognized by the GLVC for their performance in the classroom this past academic year.
"I am proud of the way our student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom this past school year," McKendree Director of Athletics
Anthony Francis said. "Our student-athletes continue to be committed to not only competing at a high level academically, but also continuing to put their academic success at the forefront of their endeavors. I once again applaud the student-athletes, the coaches and staff for the attention and priority they put on the academic success of their programs and student-athletes."
To be eligible for Academic All-GLVC honors, a varsity student-athlete must have a 3.3 grade-point average over the course of the two semesters of the 2021-22 academic year.
McKendree had student-athletes honored from all 21 GLVC-sponsored sports in which it participates. Of those 21 programs, four teams produced at 20 Academic All-GLVC recipients in 2021-22. The Bearcats' baseball program led the way with 34 honorees, while the football program was next with 27 honorees, followed by the women's soccer team with 25 and the men's soccer team had 20 selections. In addition, a total of 16 McKendree athletic teams had 10 or more student-athletes named to the Academic All-GLVC Team.
In addition to the McKendree sports with 20 or more honorees, the other sports with GLVC All-Academic Team members were men's swimming & diving (19), women's swimming & diving (18), women's bowling (16), men's golf (15), men's wrestling (15), softball (15), women's lacrosse (13), women's track & field (13), women's volleyball (13), women's basketball (12), men's basketball (10), women's golf (10), men's tennis (9), women's tennis (8), women's cross country (6), men's track & field (5) and men's cross country (4).
The list of honorees features GLVC student-athletes from the following sports: baseball (374), men's basketball (88), women's basketball (160), women's bowling (50), men's cross country (133), women's cross country (135), football (268), men's golf (110), women's golf (100), men's lacrosse (139), women's lacrosse (137), men's soccer (294), women's soccer (341), softball (242), men's swimming & diving (165), women's swimming & diving (157), men's tennis (89), women's tennis (89), men's track & field (210), women's track & field (220), women's volleyball (200) and men's wrestling 106).

Multiple asterisks next to a student-athletes' name indicates the number of times an individual has earned the award in their career. First-time or one-time honorees do not have an asterisk next to their name. The Bearcats had a total of 43 student-athletes this year that earned Academic All-GLVC honors four times and a total of nine student-athletes earning Academic All-GLVC honors five times.
