FARMINGTON, Penn. – The men's golf team traveled east for their fall schedule finale as they competed in the inaugural Nemacolin Intercollegiate tournament hosted by the University Findlay. The Mystic Rock Golf Course played to a par 72 from 7,117 yards. The field battled a frost delay before the start of round one, followed by the second round being suspended due to darkness. Fellow GLVC member, University of Indianapolis won the 54-hole event by shooting an 871 (295-294-282).
The Bearcats tied with the University of Missouri – St. Louis Tritons for 6th with a 903 (301-304-298).
Leading the way for McKendree was Thomas Tollefsen who tied for 8th by shooting a 219 (70-76-73). Rasmus Nilsson (78-72-78) and Griffin St. Pierre (76-77-75) tied for 22nd with a 228. Phasin Vichitcharoenpaisarn placed in 31st with a 232 (77-81-74). Aidan O'Keefe rounded out the lineup by tying for 38th with a 237 (82-79-76).
The back nine proved to be more challenging for the field as six holes from the back proved to play the toughest on the course. For the tournament, the field had an average of 75.77 (+3).
The team will resume their schedule in the spring, which will be announced at a later date.
