Evansville, Ind. - McKendree University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet.
The women's 6-kilometer race began at 10:00 A.M. and saw junior Reagan Lucas lead the way with a time of 25:03.67. A trio of sophomores came through next, Sophia Paschal, Lacey Laxton, and Colleen Zink with times of 25:20.79, 25:31.09, 26:09.91 respectively.
Freshman Chloe Gough crossed the line with a time of 26:25.05. Sophomore Azia Douglas finished with a time of 28:01.79, and Caroline Peters completed the race in 28:04.61.
The men's 10-kilometer race began at 11:15 A.M. and saw sophomore John Bush lead the way with a time of 35:20.80.
Senior Jaxon Groves-Scott finished in 35:38.10, and sophomore Blake Westrater crossed the line with a time of 36:17.46. Junior Caleb Klein competed the race in 36:21.55.
Senior Michael Hayeck finished with a time of 37:49.90. Junior Oshawi Burgher crossed the line with a time of 39:02.53 and senior Seth Kasinger closed out the day with a time of 39:58.49.
"I think it was a good way for our team to end the season, I'm really proud of all the work they put in all year. We're looking forward to the track season to come" said Head Coach Brydon Groves-Scott.
This meet concludes the 2023 cross country season.
