LEBANON, Ill. - The McKendree women's bowling team is ranked 21st in The National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 25 Poll released this Thursday, December 7.
In the December poll, the Bearcats received 203 total points to rank them 21st after being ranked 14th in the Preseason Poll released in October. McKendree placed right behind Oklahoma Christian University which received 217 points.
During the fall campaign, the Bearcats competed in four tournaments placing in the top five in three of those tournaments. McKendree opened up their 2023-2024 season with a third-place finish at the Ebonite Valpo Classic, before finishing fourth at the Bowlero Southern Collegiate Classic and 12th at the MOTIV Ladyjack Classic. McKendree hosted their last tournament in 2023, the McKendree Match Games on November 18-19. The Bearcats placed fifth out of 19 teams knocking down 8,055 pins.Â
The December NTCA Top 25 Poll features three other teams from the GLVC. Maryville University placed 10th with 1,050 points, Newman University placed 18th with 316 points, and University of Central Missouri placed 23rd with 154 votes.
The Bearcats return to action for their spring semester schedule January 13-14 to compete in the KEGEL - ISBPIA Midwest Collegiate Classic hosted in Addison, Ill.
