Women’s Basketball Names Terra Helm as Assistant Coach

LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University women's basketball head coach Kari Kerkhoff announced the addition of Assistant Coach Terra Helm to the women's basketball coaching staff in early May.

"We are ecstatic to have Terra join our program and McKendree University!" said Kerkhoff. "She brings valuable experience and will continue to help us strive to the top of the conference. Her regional connections will make an immediate impact with recruiting. Terra's energy and personality on and off the floor will make her a positive role model for our student-athletes. I am excited to share the sideline with her moving forward."

Helm joins McKendree after one season as the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., under head coach Katie Falco. Prior to Lindenwood, Helm served as the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach for three seasons at her alma mater, Culver-Stockton College, in Canton, Mo. In her three seasons at Culver-Stockton, Helm helped the Wildcats to two Heart Conference Tournament appearances, one NAIA National Tournament appearance, had ten players named to the All-Heart Conference Teams, and had two players with NAIA All-American Honorable Mention honors.

During her college career, Helm appeared in 84 games for the Wildcats in three seasons and was a part of teams with 20 or more wins in a single season. Helm served as the captain of the team for her senior year and was twice named to the NAIA Daktronics All-Scholar Team. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education and Health.

Following her collegiate career at Culver-Stockton, Helm spent a year as a Graduate Assistant Coach at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., and obtained a Master's of Education degree.

Helm looks forward to her first season at McKendree this coming year. "McKendree's women's basketball program has a very bright future, and I can see the potential we have here," said Helm. "I am excited to work with Coach Kerkhoff and continue to build this program!"
