SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The Bearcat women's golf team wrapped up a two-day swing competing in the Kansas City Cup, hosted by William Jewell College on September 25th and 26th. Paradise Pointe Golf Complex was the host of the event, playing as a par 72 from 5,798 yards.
As a team, the McKendree University Bearcats won the event with a total of 611 (302-309) by five strokes over fellow GLVC member Lewis University.
In her second collegiate tournament, freshman Waritsara Rungrojanaluk wins medalist honors with a total of 146 (73-73). Martina Hicks finished two shots behind her teammate for a 2nd place finish with a 148 (74-74). In a tie for 11th, Chiara Bortollotti shot a 156 (78-78). Sarah Capel finished in 22nd by herself with a 163 (77-86). Audrey Cain tied for 23rd, one shot behind Capel with a 164 (80-84). Charli Thurlow rounded out the Bearcat contingent with a 174 (90-84).
Up next for the Bearcats is the Flyer Intercollegiate on October 2nd and 3rd in Chicago, Illinois as the famous Cog Hill Golf Club.
