DeKalb, Ill. - McKendree University men's cross country opened the 2024 campaign at the NIU Huskie Invite.
Junior Blake Westrater lead the Bearcat harries in a 4-mile race with a time of 21:46.94 placing 11th overall.
Freshman Diego Paz-Denis crossed the line in a time of 22:19.41 and senior Caleb Klein followed in suit with a time of 22:23.54
Freshman Brenton Good finished with a time of 24:15.09 and freshman Jevor Murray closed out the day for the Bearcats with a time of 25:59.99.
This meet marks the beginning of a new era, as new head coach Seth Hardwick made his debut.
"Proud of the efforts of both of our men's and women's teams today, I think it's a promising effort to start the season and am looking forward to carrying this momentum for the rest of the year" Coach Seth Hardwick said.
McKendree finished 4th overall and look to Sept. 21st for the next meet at Saint Louis University.
