Women's Bowling Finishes First at McKendree Match Games

BELLEVILLE, Ill. - The McKendree University women's bowling team competed this past weekend in the McKendree Match Games at Bel-Air Bowl placing first overall.

The Bearcats placed first out of 19 teams, knocking down 8,224 pins finishing 70 pins in front of Lindenwood University. McKendree held off a late charge from the Lions to complete the sweep for the Team Match Games for a Tier One Victory.

In individual standings, McKendree had three individuals finish in the top nine. Graduate student Sarah Chilvers finished second overall, knocking down 1,029 pins in five games and earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Also earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team was senior Lexus Petrich who finished fourth overall, knocking down 976 pins in five games. Rounding out the top nine was graduate student Rhian Dobinson, knocking down 940 pins in five games.

The Bearcats are back in action on Jan. 17-19 as they compete in the Northeast Classic and the Kegel - ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic on Jan. 18-19.
