INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - McKendree University men's indoor track and field opened up their 2024-25 campaign at the Scott Fangman hosted by the University of Indianapolis.
Freshmen Taryll Thompson and Muthanna Yogendra placed first and second in the 60m finals with times of 6.91 and 6.94 respectively. Junior David Rricard placed eighth with a time of 7.14.
Yogendra continued his collegiate debut with a strong third place finish in the 200 with a time of 23.14. Junior Dorian Foster placed seventh and freshman Kaleb Tucker placed 10th with times of 23.47 and 23.60 respectively.
Junior George Safo placed third in the 400 with a time of 53.87, and freshman Landon Love placed seventh in 54.77.
The one mile saw freshman Diego Paz Denis place seventh with a time of 4:43.61.
In the 3000m, junior Blake Westrater led the way with a time of 9:25.61 placing fifth, followed by senior Caleb Klein in sixth with a time of 9:30.71. Graduate Student Michael Hayeck placed 10th with a time of 9:49.71.
Kaleb Tucker placed third in the 60m hurdles final with a time of 8.62.
Kierson Wicks had as good of a freshman debut you can ask for as he hit the provisional standard to qualify for the NCAA DII national championship in the high jump with a mark of 2.06m (6'9 ft.)
Keagan Greff placed third with a mark of 1.83m (6'0ft.)
The men's long jump saw junior Austin Dunn place seventh with a mark of 6.04m (19' 9.75"). Junior Jordan Tucker placed 10th with a mark of 5.72m (18' 9.25").
Dunn and Tucker also placed first and third in the triple jump with a marks of 13.15m (43' 1.75" ft) and 12.02m (39' 5.25") respectively.
Senior Matthew Wilson placed eighth in the shotput with a mark of 13.17m (44' 11.75"). Wilson also placed 8th in the weight throw with a mark of 13.77m (45' 2.25".)
The Bearcats will have to wait until after the holidays to compete again, as they will travel to Eastern Illinois University for the John Craft invite on January 18th.
