INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - McKendree University women's indoor track and field opened up their 2024-25 campaign at the Scott Fangman hosted by the University of Indianapolis.
Sophomore Amber Cotton placed second in the 60m with a 8.16, and placed sixth in the 200m in 28.05.
The 400m saw sophomores Iyanna Dear and Sara Belloso run times of 1:03.08, and 1:03.68 placing fifth and sixth.
Freshman Bree Hazelrigg placed third in the mile with a time of 6:36.93.
Sophomore Chloe Gough ran a new personal best in the 3000m with a time of 12:44.94.
Freshman Kennise Majors placed fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.66.
Sophomore Paula Niubo placed fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.43m (4' 8.25")
The women's long jump saw freshman Shinelle Jhagroo place second with a mark of 5.49m (18' 0.25"). Niubo placed fourth with a mark of 5.18m (17' 0"). Seventh and eighth place saw Senior Elise Johnson and sophomore Adonya Taylor make leaps of 4.48m (14' 8.5") and 4.44m (14' 7").
Taylor also placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 9.76m (32' 0.25")
Freshman Sofia Boscarolo led the way in the shotput with a mark of 12.78, and freshman Tenisa Ferrell with a mark of 11.56m.
Ferrell and Boscarolo threw marks of 11.80m and 9.14m in the weight throw.
The Bearcats will have to wait until after the holidays to compete again, as they will travel to Eastern Illinois University for the John Craft invite on January 18th.
