CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa | Alliant Energy PowerHouse - No.4 McKendree University women's wrestling finished out the collegiate season on Saturday evening, taking fourth place at the 2024 National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships with six All-American finishers, including a fourth-straight individual national title for senior
Cameron Guerin at 130lbs. The Bearcats finished the championship tournament with 106.0 team points, scoring in eight weight classes and placing in five. McKendree now has 19 individual national championships in program history with Guerin's 2024 crown, all of which have been won over the last six seasons. With the collegiate season completed, numerous Bearcats now turn their attention to the world wrestling stage for Oympic Team Trials and other UWW opportunities with Bearcat Wrestling Club.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP | Cameron Guerin - 130lbs
Guerin, now a four-time reigning national champion at 130lbs, sprinted to her 2024 belt via three wins by technical superiority before avenging her sole loss of the campaign in the final match of the collegiate season. The senior trounced her first three matches without allowing a point, 32-0, before topping the number one seed in Maria Victoria Baez Dilone of King, 2-1. Guerin ends the year with a 19-1 record while totaling nine falls and six techs, five of which came during the NCWWC Regionals and Championships. NOTES
McKendree added its 19th individual national champion while finishing with six All-Americans and in fourth place as a team. With the fourth place finish, the Bearcats have notched three National Titles (2020, 2021, 2022), one third place (2023), and one fourth place (2024) finish of the NCWWC-era.
Cameron Guerin now owns four-straight individual national championships at 130lbs, notching the mark as the final champion of the weight class before the collegiate weights change in the 2024-25 season. Guerin also owns a 16-0 record in her four national championship titles with nine of the wins coming via technical superiority and four by fall.
