CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - McKendree University men's track and field competed at the 2024 Joey Haines Invitational hosted by Southeast Missouri State University.
The Bearcats competed hard on a hot, windy afternoon and saw personal bests against great competition under the blistering sun. Sophomore David Richard ran 10.62 for the 100 placing second, 21.81 for the 200 placing 7th, and also helped the 4 x 400m relay place second with a time of 3:14.00.
Sophomore John Bush won the 800 with a time of 1:53.90, back to back victories in the event for the combatant along with anchoring the second place 4 x 400 relay. Junior Caleb Klein placed fourth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:05.61, a new personal best. Sophomore Blake Westrater also ran a new personal best in the 1500m with a time of 4:18.55.
McKendree track and field is back in action at Lincoln University next Saturday, April, 5.
