HOUSTON, Texas - The College Rugby Association of America's (CRAA) has announced its D1A All-American Team for the 2023-2024 Season. In 2023, A total of twenty-three College Rugby of Association of America players were taken in the MLR draft class and it is expected to grow in 2024.
For the first time in program history, the McKendree University Bearcats make an appearance on the All-American team. Freshman Ollie Aylmer was named to the D1A Third Team for his effort on the field this year.
"What Ollie has achieved this season has been nothing short of extraordinary, he's been a great example of the type of character and player we want here at McKendree, his work ethic and drive to become better is outstanding. He's got all the makings of a future USA Eagle," said Head Coach Cameron Wyper.
With being named to the D1A All-Americans, the freshman from Sydney, Australia will be considered for the Major League Rugby (MLR) Rising showcase in 2024. MLR Rising in July will feature the best collegiate players in the United States, spending a week ahead of showcase matches in Washington, DC.
