LIBERTY, Mo. - 18th-ranked McKendree University women's soccer (6-0-0, 2-0-0 GLVC) nabbed another road victory on Friday evening, defeating William Jewell, 4-2, out in Liberty for a sixth-straight win to begin the 2024 campaign. The Bearcats were led by three goal-scorers with freshman forward Maddie Mauch firing two goals in the game, bringing her season total to four while senior forward Gillian Nicholson and senior midfielder Katie Spotanski each added one in the game. McKendree improved to 2-0-0 in the GLVC while going to 4-0-0 in true road contests this fall. The Bearcats are back on the road on Sunday, September 22 for another conference bout at Truman State with a 12:00PM first kick. 

The Bearcats came up with one score in the first half as the freshman Maddie Mauch got a cross and assist from her sister, senior midfielder Reagan Mauch, before finding the back of the net. The goal marked the freshman's third goal of the campaign while the senior midfielder dished out her second assist of the year. McKendree led 1-0 at the intermission. 

The 18th-ranked Bearcats then put up a second goal in the opening minutes of the second half with senior forward Gillian Nicholson scored her first goal of the fall with the assist going out to senior forward Anna Stiffler. William Jewell fired one to cut the lead in the 64th minute but the Bearcats fired back in the 67th as the freshman Mauch fired her fourth of the season on an unassisted score. McKendree then put up one more in the 71st with senior midfielder Katie Spotanski collecting her fourth of the year as the senior Mauch added another assist on the day. 

McKendree held off the Cardinals to bring home the win while firing 20 shots with 12 on-frame and 10 earned corner kicks.
