DeKalb, Ill. - McKendree University women's cross country opened the 2024 campaign at the NIU Huskie Invite.  

Freshman Lydia Trump lead the Bearcat harries with a time of 20:26.97 placing 20th overall.  

A pack of Bearcats all finished back to back, junior Colleen Zinke with a time of 22:40.08, sophomore Chloe Gough in 22:48.71, junior Cynthia Snyder in 22:54.54, and freshman Bree Hazelrigg in 22.59.15. 

Freshman Oaklie Layton closed out the day for the Vearcats with a time of 23:51.07. 

This meet marks the beginning of a new era, as head coach Seth Hardwick made his debut. 

McKendree finished 5th overall and look to Sept. 21st for the next meet at Saint Louis University.
