Bearcat Women's Golf places 3rd at Bearcat Dual Gender

Fall concludes with run of four 3rd place or better finishes

Caseyville, IL - Winds may have rivaled that of a small tornadic storm system, but the McKendree University Women's Golf team was still able to go to work, as they were hosting the annual Bearcat Dual Gender at Far Oaks Golf Club. Indeed, wind speeds would lead to a fair amount of steep scorecards, but the Bearcats competed with the best of them, holding at a third place finish (+90), led by Waritsara Rungrojanaluk (+18) and Chiara Bortolotti del Reino (+19) finishing within one stroke of each other. The Lewis Flyers would win the team title (+58), and Kendall Farm (+7) would win the individual title via a playoff with Maryville's Fernanda Diaz-Pizarro, in which Farm eagled.

WARITSARA RUNGROJANALUK (T-6TH PLACE | +18 / 234)
Rungrojanaluk put together a consistent showing at Far Oaks, finishing at 234 (+18) with rounds of 76, 79, and 79. She was at her best on the front nine, playing it at just +3 total for the week. Her best hole came on the par-5 ninth, where she was one under across the three rounds with a birdie and two pars. Rungrojanaluk also pieced together long stretches of clean golf - posting eight straight pars midway through Round 1 and another seven-hole run in Round 2. Even when mistakes briefly appeared, she was able to limit big numbers, showing the poise and control that made her one of McKendree's most consistent scorers all fall.

CHIARA BORTOLOTTI DEL REINO (9TH PLACE | +19 / 235)
Bortolotti del Reino closed out another strong showing for McKendree, firing 78-78-79 (+19) over three rounds. She tallied 3 birdies, 23 pars, and limited major trouble to only a handful of holes across 54 holes. Her most consistent stretch came in Round 2, when she played the entire back nine at even par (38) and posted seven straight pars to end the round. The par-4 10th was her most reliable hole, played at even par for the week, while the par-5 1st offered her best scoring opportunity - carding a pair of birdies there in rounds 1 and 3. With steady control off the tee and smart recovery play around the greens, Bortolotti del Reino's three-day total once again positioned her in the top three for the Bearcats.

ALBA CAMPS PASCUAL (T-20TH PLACE | +25 / 241)
Camps Pascual opened her week with her sharpest round, a 75 (+3) that featured two birdies - one on the par-5 1st and another on the par-5 16th. She followed with rounds of 83 and 83 to finish at 241 (+25) overall. Camps Pascual's best work came on the front nine, where she was just +8 total across three rounds. Her par-5 scoring stood out: she played those holes at even par for the week, capped by a birdie on No. 9 in the final round. Despite a few higher numbers mid-round on Friday, she continually rebounded with clean stretches, including a run of five straight pars in Round 1 and another four-hole streak to close round three.

REAGAN MARTIN (T-26TH PLACE | +28 / 244)
Martin turned in rounds of 81, 82, and 81 for a 244 (+28) finish. She opened each day with poise, playing the front nine at +4 or better in all three rounds and sitting even par through nine twice. Her most dependable stretch came on the par-4 10th, where she was even for the week, and she capped Round 1 with a closing birdie on the par-5 18th. Martin carded 2 birdies and 20 pars overall, using solid ball control and disciplined shot-making to avoid major mistakes.

CALE ALBERTINA (50TH PLACE | +45 / 261)
Albertina wrapped up her tournament with rounds of 85, 89, and 87 for a 261 total. Her highlight came early in round 3, when she birdied the par-3 2nd. Across the event, Albertina produced 15 pars and handled the par-5 9th particularly well, playing it even for the tournament with three straight pars. The back nine showed Albertina consistently rebounding with composed stretches on the front side, including five pars in seven holes during the opening round.

REAGAN POTTS (62ND PLACE | +66 / 282)
Potts completed her time at Far Oaks with rounds of 96, 85, and 101, finishing at 282. Her strongest stretch came in Round 2, where she trimmed 11 strokes off her opening score and played the back nine in just +4 thanks to five pars. Potts' highlight of the event came on the par-4 11th, which she handled even for the tournament, and she also played both par-5s on the back (15 and 18) at +1 or better across three rounds. While Round 3 brought tougher conditions, she continued to compete through every hole, finding ways to recover and complete her first collegiate event at Far Oaks with determination and grit.
