LEBANON, Ill. – The McKendree Men's Swim and Dive team beat the University of Evansville with a score of 168.50 to 90.50 on Saturday October 4th at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex.
Senior, Joey Ovanic started the relay strong for the Bearcats in the 200-yard relay (1:34.03), however, it was Caden Brooks, Nojus Bertulis,Vova Gavrysh and Tyson Upton that finished with a 1:30.30 in the event.
In the 200-yard butterfly, Phin Theall, Luke Asbury, Caden Brooks, and Luis Villalobos finished with times of 1:55.29, 1:56.15,1:56.55 and 1:57.78, respectively. Patrick Cramer finished with a time of 21.53 in the 50-yard freestyle to win the event for McKendree.
To finish the day the Bearcats won the 400-yard freestyle relay with Kadence Griffen, Daniel, Jakub Rynkiewicz and Upton in relay for the team. This effort got the 168.50-98.50 win over Evansville.
Next, McKendree will be traveling to Allendale, Michigan to compete in the GVSU Invite on October 10th and 11th.
