Peyton Baker of McKendree University women's soccer tallied yet another GLVC Defensive Player of the Week honor on Monday following a two shutout weekend on the road, a
s announced by the league office. The award marks Baker's third Player of the Week selection of the 2025 campaign. The performance by Baker was highlighted through her eighth and ninth shutouts of the season, as she helped push her team to the
2025 GLVC Regular Season title. Baker and the Bearcats now head into postseason action as the #2 Seed with their first battle starting at Leemon Field in the GLVC Championship Tournament Quarterfinals against #7 Lewis on November 9.

Baker, a leader among in major categories among the GLVC goalkeepers, continued her prowess in the 2025 season as she collected two more shutouts to put her atop the conference in the statistic while driving her team to another league crown in the regular season, the Bearcats first since 2021. She faced 20 shots over the weekend as a whole, grabbing four saves in each game to lock dow the zero-goal result for the Bearcats' adversaries. With the results and performances, Baker also put herself atop the conference in goals against average (.533) and save percentage (0.892). The award completes a trio of weekly honors for the junior from Alton, Illinois, as she earned her first career GLVC weekly award on September 29 and then added a second on October 6.
