INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – McKendree Men's Swimmer Vova Gavrysh was awarded his second Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Swimmer of the Week award this past week, the conference announced on Wednesday. 

Gavrysh's historic performance at the Mizzou Invitational earned him his second GLVC Swimmer of the Week award this season.  

At the invitational he secured the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle and butterfly, swimming a 1:32.73 in the freestyle and 1:42.33 in the butterfly. His freestyle time now ranks as the second fastest in Division II history. Gavrysh also led off in the second-place 800-yard freestyle relay with a 1:33.20 split. He then placed sixth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 47.26.  

He looks to continue his stellar season as the team will be back home on January 10th at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex for a dual meet against WashU.
