MANHEIM, Pa. | National Wrestling Coaches Association - McKendree University women's wrestling (11-0, 3-0 GLVC) continued to hold strong as the No.2 team in the latest NWCA National Poll as the Bearcats rank nine individuals while totaling 112 points as a team, just eight behind Iowa. The Bearcats are locked in with three top-ranked individuals, one of two programs with multiple top-ranked wrestlers, being led by 110 Gabriele Tedesco, 117 Yu Sakamoto, and 124 Shelby Moore. The squad led by fourth-season head coach Alexio Garcia is rounded out by six more individuals in 103 Heather Crull, 131 Alex Szkotnicki, 138 Haylie Jaffe, 145 Eduarda Rodrigues, 160 Savannah Gomez, and 180 Destiny Rodriguez. McKendree finished out its first semester on December 7 with a clean sweep at the first edition of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Duals, going 3-0 with wins over Quincy, Upper Iowa, and Northern Michigan. McKendree gets back on the mats on January 9-10 at NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at the UNI Dome.
