INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – McKendree women's indoor track and field opened their 2025-26 season with the 2nd annual Scott Fangman Invitational hosted by the University of Indianapolis.
Freshman Kamoy Cole placed fifth in the 60m finals with the time of 7.89.
Sophomore Mikayla Sutherland placed first in the 400m with the time of 56.91, qualifying for the NCAA championship. Junior Iyanna Dear placed seventh in the 400m with a time of 1:02.60.
The one mile saw six Bearcats place in the top ten. Seniors Sophia Paschal, Chloe Gough, and Cynthia Snyder placed third, fourth, and fifth with the times of 5:53.38, 6:02.62, and 6:10.49, all respectively. Sophomores Daniela Lozano and Oaklie Layton placed sixth and eighth with the times of 6:22.90 and 6:30.94, respectively. Freshman Audrey Cummins placed seventh with the time of 6:24.93.
Sophomore Mariana Lozano placed fifth in the 3000m with the time of 14:06.38.
Cole finished first in the 60 Hurdles with a time of 8.80.
McKendree has two squads finish in the top ten of the 4 x 400 relay. Squad A (Adonya Taylor, Divine Favour Ozomma, Dear, Sutherland) placed third with a time of 4:00.45. Squad B (Tori King, Azia Douglas, Mariah Creamer, Alexia Marwa) tied for seventh with the time of 4:33.59.
Junior Paula Niubo placed fifth in high jump marking 1.43m (4'10.25 ft).
Sophomore Shinelle Jhagroo-Bryan placed first in long jump with a mark of 5.59m (18'4.25 ft). Niubo also earned a ninth-place finish with a mark of 4.91m (16'1.5 ft).
Up next, the Bearcats will compete in the Indiana Early Bird Meet hosted by the University of Indiana on Dec. 12th.
