O'FALLON, Ill. - No.6 McKendree men's swim and dive and No.17 Women's swimming hosted their final home meet of the 2024-25 season. This was the final opportunity for the Bearcats to compete before the NCAA DII National Championship meet.
Junior Rylee Sitton broke the women's school record in the 200-yard breaststroke. In an event and heat all by herself she pushed her limits from the start all the way to the finish. Sitton's time of 2:20.35 narrowly bests her former teammate Grace Credit's school record time of 2:20.48.
The Sophomore distance men paced each other through the 1000-yard Freestyle helping Michael Stooke touch with a best time of 9:17.71. Christian Davidson finished with a time of 9:20.62.
Junior Caden Brooks tested his butterfly skills by crushing his previous best time in the 200-yard fly by going 1:49.28 and securing his NCAA B cut.
Senior Backstroke duo Patryk Rozenek and Abram Hagedorn both swam the 500-yard Freestyle, and both set personal best times. Rozenek touched at 4:40.75 while Hagedorn finished at a 4:49.00. The event also included freshman Domantas Tarnauskas who swam to a personal best time of 4:42.19.
Freshmen Luiza Dias swam a personal best time in his first ever 200-yard Butterfly. She finished with a time of 2:09.55.
Freshmen Bianka Bukovics crushed her previous best time and finished with a time of 57.20
Sophomore Polat Tasbasi lowers his rank in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 1:58.41, marking a season best for him.
This concludes the regular season for the Bearcats, and now look to the NCAA DII National Championship beginning on March 10 in Indianapolis.
