RICHMOND, Va. – McKendree Women's Swim and Dive earned a total of 32 points in The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) preseason poll they announced on Tuesday.

The Bearcats are coming off a 21st finish at the Division II National Championships where they earned a total of 28 points and multiple All-American Performances in Evansville, Indiana.

McKendree is returning five athletes with two of them competing at nationals last year. The program also added 11 newcomers to the team this year, growing the program to a total of 16 athletes.

Head Coach Jimmy Tierney had this to say about the upcoming women's season "The future is very bright for the lady Bearcats! We have 11 new members out of 16 and the energy so far has been outstanding. There is plenty of talent and drive for us to move up nationally this year. We have great leadership to mix with young swimmers who embrace being a Bearcat and want to make a difference immediately for McKendree. It's going to be an exciting journey with this team. Can't wait to get it underway"!

McKendree opens the season today with the St. Louis Showcase in Edwardsville, Ill. They will be competing at the Chuck Fruit Aquatic Center October 3rd with events starting at 10:30 a.m.
