INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - McKendree University men's track and field freshman Kierson Wicks was named an NCAA All-American after placing eighth in the high jump at the NCAA DII Track and Field National Championships.
Wicks, a freshman from Saint Louis, Mo. broke the school record in the high jump three times this season including today, leaping over the 7ft barrier for the first time in his career. His final mark of 2.14m (7.025ft) stands as the new school record.
Wicks eighth place finish at the national championships is the highest placement by a Bearcat at the national championships since 2018.
Wicks now looks to carry this momentum into the outdoor season along with the rest of the track and field team.
