INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Mckendree University women's indoor track and field team concluded their season at the GLVC Championship where they took 10th place.
The women's long jump was the main event for the Bearcats this weekend as freshman phenom Shinelle Jhangroo Bryan took second place and sophomore Paula Niubo took seventh with leaps of 5.81m and 5.22m (19' 0.75", 17' 1.5").
Jhangroo's leap is the third furthest in school history, and his the provisional standard for the NCAA DII National Championship. This also ranks 35th in the nation currently.
Sophomore Lydia Trump saw a massive personal best in the one mile run with a time of 5:31.06.
The 4x400m relay took sixth place with a time of 4:02.40. The relay quadrent included sophomores Adoyna Taylor, Divine Favor Ozomma, Iyanna Dear, and freshman Mickayla Sutherland.
This wraps up the indoor season for the women's track and field team and now look to outdoors as they take on the Missouri S&T invite on Fri-Sat March. 21-22.
