TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - McKendree University men's track and field traveled to Indiana State University to compete at the Pacesetter Invitational where they placed seventh. Battling wind and rain all day the Bearcats still saw personal bests from many athletes.
The 100m saw freshman Muthanna Yogendra and junior Dorian Foster both run personal bests placing seventh and 10th with times of 10.82 and 11.04 respectively.
Sophomore Matthew Chandler led the way in the 200 with a career-best time of 21.98. Taryll Thompson and Dorian Foster also ran new personal bests with marks of 22.56 and 22.62 apiece.
The personal bests continued in the 400m as junior David Richard and freshman Jevor Murray placed sixth and eighth with times of 49.10 and 49.57.
Freshmen Diego Paz Denis ran a time of 1:57.71 in the 800m followed by Brenton Good who ran a colligate best of 2:11.73.
The 10,000m saw the distance duo of junior Blake Westrater and graduate student Michael Hayeck place fifth and seventh, both running personal bests with times of 33:41.46 and 35:20.09.
Junior Julian Juszczyk and freshman Kaleb Tucker kept the personal bests rolling as they threw down personal records of 56.72 and 57.74.
In the relays, Yogendrea, Tucker, Thompson, and Foster took fourth in the 4 x 100m relay with a time of 42.44. The 4 x 400m relay saw Chandler, Richard, Byndloss, and Murray take first place with a time of 3:15.37 which currently stands in second place in the GLVC.
Over on the field junior Austin Dunn leapt a distance of 6.17m (20'3ft), and sophomore Jordan Tucker took seventh place with a mark of 13.09m (42' 11.5ft).
The throwing unit of senior Matthew Wilson and junior Antonio Gonzalez threw marks of 12.61m, 34.33m (personal best), 38.08m, and 9.46m (personal best), 37.77 (personal best), 43.44m in the shotput, discus, and hammer throw respectively.
The Bearcats are back on the track and field next weekend at the Joey Haines Invitational hosted by Southeast Missouri University.
