ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - McKendree University women concluded the 2025 GLVC Championship with an ninth place finish. Freshman Mickayla Sutherland and sophomore Sara Belloso both had third place finishes in the 400m and 400m hurdles respectively.
Sophomore Adonya Taylor leapt a mark of 11.41m (37-5.25ft) in the triple jump, a personal best.
Freshman Mickayla Sutherland capped off her stellar season with a bronze medal in the 400m, running 55.11 the third fastest time in school history. This is also her personal best and once again the fastest time in the DII era of McKendree Women's Track and Field. Rosemary Okafor's 54.02 and Agne Viscokaite's 54.56 are the only athletes in school history faster than her, both of these athletes were Olympians. Okafor in the 2000 games, and Viscokaite in the 2000 and 2004 games.
Belloso's personal best in the 400m hurdles of 1:03.02 is the fastest time since Kynzee Boastick in 2021 who ran 1:03.05.
Sophomores Divine Favor Ozomma, Amber Cotton, Iyanna Dear, and freshman Helena Rhode took fifth place in the 4x100 running a time 49.45.
The quadrant of Taylor, Belloso, Dear, and Sutherland took home seventh in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:03.40.
The Bearcats took ninth place scoring 26 points and concludes the women's track and field season.
