Bearcat Women's Golf Wins Salisbury Memorial

All four scoring players finish Top 10, break 300

Springfield, IL - The McKendree University Women's Golf Team was back in action on Monday and Tuesday at the Dan Salisbury Memorial Tournament at Piper Glen Golf Club, hosted by Illinois-Springfield. The course proved quite the test at times, as did Mother Nature, but the Bearcats prevailed, taking the team title by 19 strokes (+76), and having all players, scoring or non-scoring break 300. Alba Camps Pascual, Waritsara Rungrojanaluk, Reagan Martin, and Chiara Bortolotti del Reino all finished in the Individual Top 10, bringing plenty of Bearcat positives back to Lebanon from the state capital.

ALBA CAMPS PASCUAL | 3RD PLACE | +13 / 229
Alba Camps Pascual led the way for McKendree. She surged to the top of the leaderboard on Monday with five birdies in her opening round and three more in the afternoon, taking the individual lead at +2 (146) after 36 holes. A steady front nine on Tuesday (+2) kept her in contention, but the momentum would slip away on the back half as a late, but furious charge came from both Illinois-Springfield's Elaine Grant and Maryville's Fernanda Diaz-Pizarro, the latter two of whom would ultimately determine the individual title in a one-hole playoff, won by Grant.

WARITSARA RUNGROJANALUK | 5TH PLACE | +16 / 232
Despite battling illness, Waritsara Rungrojanaluk turned in a gritty performance that landed her inside the individual top five. She showed a consistent scoring touch with three birdies in the first round, two more in the second, and three again in Tuesday's finale. Nearly carding even par in the closing round, Rungrojanaluk finished just one stroke over (73) to anchor a resilient effort.

REAGAN MARTIN | 8TH PLACE | +23 / 239
After a challenging start on Monday morning, Reagan Martin quickly steadied her round with a birdie and an eagle on the par-4 13th. She added a birdie on the par-3 15th during the afternoon session to complete the day's turnaround. Martin's best play came in the final round, where three birdies fueled a +5 (77) that propelled her into the Top 10.

CHIARA BORTOLOTTI DEL REINO | 9TH PLACE | +24 / 240
Chiara Bortolotti Del Reino built her scorecard on consistency, opening the tournament with two birdies and a string of steady pars in her first round. After navigating a tougher front nine in the second, she tightened up play on the back half to sit at +16 following Monday's 36 holes. Tuesday brought further highlights, as she carded birdies at the par-5 9th, par-3 12th, and par-5 16th to cap off her event on a strong note.

CALE ALBERTINA | 23RD PLACE | +45 / 261
Cale Albertina pieced together stretches of steady golf, collecting 22 pars. That included four pars on par-5's, showing resilience in navigating Piper Glen's longest challenges. Albertina continued to grind through her rounds and gave the Bearcats valuable depth in the lineup.

REAGAN POTTS (IND.) | T-35TH PLACE | +64 / 280
Playing as an individual, Reagan Potts showed marked improvement with each round. After a +27 (99) in Monday's opener, she shaved eight strokes off her score in the afternoon while stringing together five pars. Potts carried that progress into the final day, where she broke through with her first two birdies of the tournament - the par-4 3rd and the par-3 12th - to cap a steady closing effort.
