Bearcat Women's Golf three-peats as Kansas City Cup Champions

McKendree edges Maryville by a single stroke with three players inside the Top 6

Smithville, MO - The McKendree University Women's Golf team rose to the occasion in Smithville, Missouri, capturing the team championship of the Kansas City Cup at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex for the third consecutive year, this time, by the slimmest of margins. The Bearcats posted a +30 total over two rounds, edging Maryville by a single stroke in a field that featured several Great Lakes Valley Conference opponents. With five players inside the Top 25, McKendree proved that balance and consistency across the lineup can be the deciding factor. The Cup's third round was canceled due to poor weather in the area. 

CHIARA BORTOLOTTI DEL REINO | T-2ND PLACE | +2 / 148
Bortolotti del Reino paced McKendree with a tie for second place at +2. She opened with a 76 (+3), rebounding from a tough par-five 5th with pars on each of the next three holes to steady her round. On the back nine, she carded four pars but added three bogeys for a 42. Bortolotti del Reino followed with a sharp 72 (-1) in round two, highlighted by pars on seven of her first nine holes and back-to-back pars on 16 and 17 to close even. Her 148 total led the Bearcats and tied for the second-best score in the field. 

ALBA CAMPS PASCUAL | 5TH PLACE | +7 / 153
Camps Pascual placed fifth with a total of 153 (+7). She opened with a 78 (+5), including a steady front nine that featured pars on the 4th and 6th before closing with a par on 18. Camps Pascual improved in round two, signing for a 75 (+2). That effort included 12 pars overall, with key saves at the par-five 9th and par-four 17th. Her back-to-back rounds in the 70s gave McKendree another top five finisher and a second scorer inside the Top 10. 

WARITSARA RUNGROJANALUK | 6TH PLACE | +8 / 154
Rungrojanaluk finished sixth at 154 (+8). She shot 77 (+4) in both rounds. In the first round, she birdied the par-four 6th and added pars at 7 and 8 for a solid stretch before the turn. On the back nine, she made par at the par-three 13th and par-five 16th. Her second-round 77 featured 10 pars, including a clean finish with three straight at 16, 17, and 18. With identical rounds, Rungrojanaluk closed just outside the top five and gave McKendree its third top-six score. 

REAGAN MARTIN | T-12TH PLACE | +13 / 159
Martin tied for 12th with a 159 (+13). She opened with an 80 (+7), posting nine pars, including four on the back side with steady play at 13, 14, and 15. Martin lowered her score to 79 (+6) in round two, highlighted by pars on the par-four 9th and 10th, plus another at 14. With 18 total pars across both days, she secured her spot just outside the Top 10.

CALE ALBERTINA | 23RD PLACE | +24 / 170
Albertina finished 23rd at +24. She opened with an 86 (+13), but rebounded nicely with pars on the par-four 7th and par-three 13th. In round two, she improved to an 84 (+11), finding pars on the par-four 10th and par-three 11th in a stronger back nine.

REAGAN POTTS (IND.) | 35TH PLACE | +42 / 188
Competing as an individual, Potts placed 35th at +42. She carded consecutive 94s (+21 each day). In round one, she had her highlight on the par-five 6th with a par before closing with another at 18. In round two, she added a par on the par-three 11th and par-four 15th.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE BEARCATS - BILL CRABTREE INVITATIONAL - OWENSBORO, KY
McKendree will now turn its attention to the Bill Crabtree Invitational, hosted at The Pearl Club just eight miles east of Owensboro, Kentucky. The Don Charles-designed layout offers a championship-caliber test with bentgrass greens, zoysia fairways, bermuda rough, and five lakes spread across a routing that can stretch from 5,500 to 6,925 yards. Known for its demanding yet fair design, the course challenges every shot while offering wide fairways. The field will bring together a strong mix of regional opponents , including Young Harris College, Maryville, Illinois-Springfield, Kentucky Wesleyan, and Thomas More, alongside the Bearcats. The event takes place on Sunday and Monday, October 5th and 6th.
