Kansas City, Mo. – The McKendree University women's tennis team traveled to Kansas City to compete at the Rockhurst Invitational on September 5-6^th.

While injuries and sickness plagued the tournament, the ladies played roughly 3 games each in doubles and singles.

"I am super encouraged after this weekend. We won more matched the first day this weekend tha we did the entire tournament last year. This tournament is really to people used to match fitness and for freshman to be introduced to college tennis, and we really excelled this weekend. I am very excited for this year, we've got a great group of tennis players!" Head Coach Joost commented on the weekend.

Doubles pair sophomore Ivana Milkova and senior Iva Poleksic played 5^th in their doubles flight. Senior Lena Greefs and freshman Kristina Bogomazova also placed 5^th in their doubles flight.

Other bearcats competing this weekend include sophomores Keira Greefs and Paisley Struewing, freshman Emmy Zsigmond, Diana Calzada, Alessia Baiardi, and Emma Grantham.
