CHARLESTON, Ill. – McKendree's men's track and field team competed in their first meet of the new year with the John Craft Invitational hosted by Eastern Illinois University.
The 400m saw three top 10 placements with freshman Cincere Ruffin finishing fifth with the time of 53.04, freshman Calvin Nolan finishing seventh with the time of 53.22, and freshman Adriano Brown finishing eighth with the time of 53.44.
Sophomore Jevor Murray finished on top of the 600m with a time of 1:25.71.
Sophomore Diego Paz Denis placed eighth in the 800m with a time of 1:58.39.
Junior Keveroy Venson earned a first-place finish of the mile with the time of 4:23.15.
In the hurdles, freshman Jaevon Solomon finished sixth with a time of 9.10.
McKendree had two squads finish in the top 10 for the 4 x 400 relay. Murray, Venson, Paz Denis, and Brown (squad A) placed second with the time of 3:25.77. Junior Nahuel Badia, senior George Safo, freshman Isaiah Ford, freshman Ruel Martin (squad B) placed tenth with a time of 3:42.09.
Badia, Brown, Paz Denis, and freshman Elijah Baer finished fifth in the distance medley relay with the time of 11:20.94.
Ford placed first in the high jump with a mark of 1.96m.
Freshman Armari Officer finished fifth on long jump with a mark of 6.35m.
In the triple long jump, junior Jordan Tucker placed sixth with the mark of 13.36m.
Senior Matthew Wilson finished eighth in shot put with the mark of 14.13m. Wilson also placed ninth in weight throw with a mark of 14.61m.
Up Next: Men's Track and Field will compete at the Jason Dennis Memorial hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on Jan. 30th.
