BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – McKendree's men's indoor track and field team made their mark at the Jason Dennis Memorial Invitational hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University. The Bearcats had seven first place finishes in numerous events.
Sophomore
Muthanna Yogendra placed eighth in the 60 meter with the time of 8.61.
The 200 meter saw freshmen
Cincere Ruffin take first place. Ruffin's time was 22.63.
The 400 meter saw another Bearcat first place finish in sophomore
Jevor Murray with a time of 51.15. Freshman
Calvin Nolan Jr. placed in the tenth spot with the time of 55.54.
Sophomore
Diego Paz Denis added to the first place finishes with his first place placement in the 800 meter with a time of 1:57.79. Junior
Keveroy Venson and freshman
Adriano Brown also placed in the top ten. Venson finished third with the time of 1:59.81 and Brown finished eighth with a time of 2:02.80.
Senior
Blake Westrater took first in the 3000 meter with the time of 9:23.30.
Squad A for McKendree finished first in the 4x400 relay. Murray, Venson, Paz Denis, and freshman Armari Officer composed this squad.
The high jump saw two Bearcats in the top ten, with freshman
Isaiah Ford taking first with a mark of 1.97m. Freshman
Ruel Martin took fifth with a mark of 1.72m.
Officer placed second in long run with a mark of 6.64m, while senior
Austin Dunn finished sixth with a mark of 6.19m.
Dunn also placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.84m, followed by junior
Jordan Tucker finishing fifth with a mark of 12.61m.
Adding to the first place finishes was freshman Cleon Sewell in shot put with the mark of 15.13m. Senior
Matthew Wilson followed placing fifth with a mark of 14.21m.
Wilson had another fifth place finish in weight throw with a mark of 14.89m, while Sewell placed seventh with a mark of 14.05m.
UP NEXT: The Bearcats will compete in the DePauw Invitational on Feb. 14th.
