Women's Indoor Track and Field Battle at the Jason Dennis Memorial Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – McKendree's women's indoor track and field competes at the Jason Dennis Memorial Invitational Hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University. Five Bearcats finished first in various events, while four Bearcats had top three placements. 

Sophomore Shinelle Jhagroo-Bryann finished first in the 60 meter with the time of 7.81, followed by freshman Kamoy Cole with a second place finish with the time of 7.90.

The 200 meter two top ten finishes in junior Divine Favour Ozomma with a fourth place finish with a time of 26.81 and junior Iyanna Dear with the time of 28.03. 

Three Bearcats placed in the top ten of the 400 meter. Sophomore Mickayla Sutherland earned a first place finish with the time of 59.90, followed by Adonya Taylor with a second place finish at 1:00.59. Sophomore Helena Rohde placed sixth with the time of 1:04.47.

Freshman Mariah Creamer finished third in the 800 meter with the time 2:25.10, while junior Sara Belloso finished sixth with the time of 2:35.12.

The mile saw four Bearcat top ten finishes in senior Chloe Gough, senior Cynthia Snyder, sophomore Okalie Layton, and freshmen Audrey Cummins. Gough placed sixth with the time of 5:46.52. Snyder placed eighth with the time of 6:14.64. Layton placed ninth with the time of 6:15.92. Cummins place tenth with the time of 6:21.78. 

Senior Sophia Paschal finished third in second in the 3000 meter with the time of 11:46.18.

Three of McKendree's squads finished in the top ten of the 4x400 relay with squad A (Taylor, Ozomma, Sutherland, and freshman Alaina Spence) finishing on top with the time of 4:03.06. Squad B (Creamer, senior Tori King, senior Azia Douglas, and sophomore Kennise Major) placed sixth with the time of 4:29.19. Squad C (Gough, Cummins, Snyder, and Paschal) placed seventh with the time of 4:53.29. 

Jhagroo-Bryan placed first in long jump with a personal best mark of 5.78m. 

Sophomore Sofia Boscarolo added to the first place placement with a first place finish in shot put with a mark of 12.34m. 

UP NEXT: Women's Indoor Track and Field will be back with the DePauw Invitational on Feb. 14th.
