EVANSVILLE, Ind. – McKendree Men's Swim and Dive ended the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Swim and Dive Championships Saturday night at the Deaconess Aquatic Center.
Miguel Carvalhosa kept his hot streak going, getting another second-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 15:27.87. Noah Brereton and Michael Stook also finished within the top 15 getting 13th and 14th with times of 16:04.57 and 16:06.43 respectively.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Vova Gavrysh collected his third individual title with a time of 43.16. Tyson Upton earned bronze in the event finishing with a 43.68. Daniel De Oliveira was also on the podium, finishing in a tie for sixth with a time 44.10.
Caden Brooks got on the podium as well in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in sixth place with a time of 1:46.05. Tyler Bardak also had a top 10 finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, earning ninth with a 1:59.80.
To end the day, the group of Upton, Gavrysh, Brooks and Joey Ovanic got second in the 400-yard freestyle relay, ending with a 2:54.95.
The Bearcats would finish with a total score of 1,365 points and earn a third-place finish in the GLVC Championships.
Next, the team will be preparing for the NCAA DII National Championships which will be back in Evansville at the Deaconess Aquatic Center March 10th through the 14th.
