Chattanooga, TN - The 14th-ranked McKendree University Softball team wrapped up its first full day in Chattanooga for the NCAA Division II Women's College World Series on Wednesday, but not without more recognition for the team coming in. The National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) and Division II Conference Commissioners' Association (D2CCA) both released their All-American teams in the afternoon hours. The Bearcats were thrilled to be represented on both lists, with senior shortstop Lauren Harris being named a unanimous First Team All-American by both organizations. 

NFCA UNANIMOUS FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN
The NFCA honor holds particular weight for Harris, as it comes with two historical footnotes. Leading the way, preliminary research has indicated that Harris becomes just the second player in the history of the NCAA - all three divisions - to win Unanimous First Team All-American multiple times. The only other player found has been legendary DP/pitcher for UCLA, Rachel Garcia. Confirmation on what would be an incredibly historic feat is in progress as of publication. 

Harris is also now just the 22nd player in NCAA history to be named a four-time NFCA All-American. She is just the second-ever shortstop in NCAA/NFCA history to earn four All-American honors, joining Augustana-SD's Kim Kouri (88-91).

D2CCA UNANIMOUS FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN
The D2CCA honor is the third of the career for Harris, and third consecutive First Team All-American honor. 

Harris was one of five representatives of the GLVC on the complete list, and one of two on the First Team group.
