(TUCSON, Ariz., March 13)- The McKendree University softball team picked up two wins on Tuesday at the Tucson Invitational.
The Bearcats will close out its spring break trip in Arizona on Wednesday with three games. McKendree will face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (Calif.) at 9 a.m., followed by games against Edgewood College at 1:30 pm MT, and Lubbock Christian University at 3:30 p.m. MT.

The game was scoreless until the Bearcats broke the game open with a grand slam by junior
Emily Mouyard (Johnson City, Ill./Johnson City) in the sixth inning to take a 4-0 lead. A single by sophomore
Caitlin Stredde (Pingree Grove, Ill./South Elgin) in the seventh scored sophomore
Kendyll Koester (Lebanon, Ill./Lebanon HS) from second to give the Bearcats the 5-0 win.
Stredde had two hits in the win, while senior pitcher
Autumn Allen (Fairview Heights, Ill./Belleville East HS) improved to 6-2 overall and had six strikeouts.

Huntington 3, McKendree 1
Huntington scored two runs in the fifth inning to take a 3-1 lead and deal McKendree the loss. Mouyard and freshman
Morgan Schulte (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) each had tow hits in the loss, while senior
BethAnn Swartz (Urbana, Ill./Urbana HS) fell to 1-4 overall and had four strikeouts.

McKendree 4, Waldorf 3 (9 inn.)
Freshman
Eleni Polites (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) scored the game-winning run on a groundout by freshman
Caty Ponce (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) in the ninth inning to give McKendree the win.
Redshirt junior
Cassi Brown (Trenton, Ill./Wesclin HS) was 3-for-3 in the win and Swartz earned the win in relief with three strikeouts.
