Box Score (KENOSHA, Wis., Sept. 29)—The McKendree University volleyball team dropped a four-set decision Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. After the Bearcats took the first set, the host Rangers bounced back to take the final three sets and the match. Wisconsin-Parkside won by scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-18 and 25-12.
McKendree moves to 6-10 overall and 2-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Bearcats will step out of league play on Tuesday at Lindenwood University. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
At Wisconsin-Parkside, freshman outside hitter
Hannah Wessel (Waterloo, IL/Gibault Catholic) led McKendree with 15 kills, while junior outside hitter
Maureen Nesbit (Belleville, IL/Althoff Catholic) chipped in with 10 attacks. Junior setter
Abby Hanger (Belleville, IL/Belleville West) handed out 30 assists for the Bearcats. Junior libero
Maddie Kelly (Lake Saint Louis, MO/Timberland) handled a team-best 16 digs, and junior middle hitter Mel Duncan helped out with four blocks.
McKendree and Wisconsin-Parkside will meet one more time this season on Oct. 26 at the Melvin Price Convocation Center in Lebanon. That will mark the Bearcats' Dig Pink game during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
