Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 30)- The McKendree University women's soccer team earned a 3-0 win over University of Illinois-Springfield on Wednesday night and made program history by qualifying for the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament.
The Bearcats improved to 7-5-6 overall and 5-4-6 in the GLVC with the win, and will travel to No. 9 Quincy University on Sunday, Nov. 3 for a first-round game at Noon.
McKendree took a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute on a goal by junior defender
Madalan O'Leary (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville) off an assist by senior midfielder
Tara Kennedy (Waterloo, Ill./Gibault Catholic). The goal was O'Leary's first of the season.
The Bearcats struck again after the half on a goal by freshman forward
Alyssa Reiniger (Maryville, Ill./Collinsville) off a pass from sophomore forward
Alyssa Patterson (Troy, Ill./Triad) in the 50th minute to take 2-0 lead.
McKendree added its third and final goal of the night in the 83rd minute on a long free kick by Kennedy that was misplayed by the Prairie Star goalkeeper and found the back of the net.

Maggie Dudas (St. Peters, Mo./Ft. Zumwalt South) improved to 5-4-4 overall on the seaosn and had one save in the win. Fellow senior goalkeeper
Kayla Morelan (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) played the final six minutes of the contest to combine for the team shutout.
